The Subspace Emissary (JP) (abbreviated as SSE) is an adventure mode in the Wii video game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game has two opposing sides with one clear protagonist team and one clear antagonist team. Mario commands the protagonist team, while Tabuu runs the opposing side.

Team-ups[]

The characters break into clear groups and these groups grow bigger until the're one unified group ready to take on Tabuu

Areas[]

The "Super Smash Bros." world consists of the following areas:

  • Midair Stadium- The introduction of the plot takes place at an ordinary arena-like place. Three battles will take place, the first being between Mario and Kirby. After the Subspace Army arrives, the player will have to battle a group of Primid. Finally, Kirby will face off with the first boss who locks Peach and Zelda in cages. Once defeated, Wario drops in and kidnaps the princess that wasn't rescued by Kirby.
  • Skyworld- Pit's home land and the first true level in the game. The player will have to explore and find Mario in the clouds as Pit. From there, Pit will need to proceed to the surface of the world. A short battle with the Primid will take place here as well. This is also where Pit finds Mario after he is blasted away.
    • Playable Characters- Pit, Mario
    • Boss Battle- Greap (miniboss), Roturret (miniboss)
    • Stage Clear Rewards- Mario and Pit join team (seperate from others)
  • Sea of Clouds- Kirby and the princess he rescues land on top of the Halberd, which is currently fighting off against an Arwing. Kirby and the princess are eventually swept off and fall through the clouds back to solid ground.
    • Playable Characters- Kirby, Peach/Zelda
    • Boss Battle- Greap (miniboss)
    • Stage Clear Rewards- None
  • The Jungle- Based on Kongo Jungle, the player will play as Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in pursuit of Bowser, who has stolen Donkey Kong's Banana Hoard in order to lure him. The Jungle is infested with Bowser's minions such as Goombas, Koopas, and Bullet Bills. A mini-battle with a Giant Goomba will take place here. Bowser is also key characters in this area.
  • The Plain- Mario and Pit catch up with the Ancient Minister, only to have him get away at the last moment. Nothing really notable about this area.

  • The Lake- Diddy Kong runs into Rayquaza, but Fox manages to rescue him and they both fight off the gigantic Pokémon. Afterward, Diddy drags Fox along to help him rescue Donkey Kong.
  • The Ruined Zoo- Lucas is seemingly lost in the Zoo, when the Pig King Statue begins to chase him. He is shortly rescued by Ness, though, and together they fight Pokey Minch. After the battle, Wario attacks them, and ends up turning Ness into a trophy. Lucas runs away scared and eventually runs into the Pokémon Trainer, who uses his Squirtle to fight off oncoming Primid. Lucas eventually decides to accompany him from there on.
  • The Battlefield Fortress- Marth defends his fortress against the oncoming Subspace Army. Suddenly, Meta Knight attacks him, but they quickly join forces once the Subspace are approaches them. When trying to stop the Acient Minister, Ike appears and uses his Aether to destroy the Subspace Bomb he was carrying.
    • Playable Characters- Marth, Meta Knight, Ike
    • Bosses- None
    • Stage Clear Rewards- Marth, Meta Knight, Ike join team
  • The Forest- Based on the Lost Woods, Link draws the Master Sword from its pedestal and is wondering through the forest, passing a sleeping Yoshi. Suddenly, the Halberd flies overhead and Shadow Bugs rain from the sky. Link and Yoshi fight off the Subspace Army and attempt to catch up with the Halberd. Also, after the defeat of the final boss, an area becomes available where one can fight Toon Link.
    • Playable Characters- Link, Yoshi
    • Bosses- None
    • Stage Clear Rewards- Link and Yoshi join team; Toon Link becomes playable
  • The Research Facility- Samus in her Zero Suit sneaks in to the Research Facility of the Subspace Army to find her missing Power Suit. Along the way, she finds a Pikachu being used as a source of energy. She frees it and they fight against the R.O.B. Squad and Samus like copies in the gravity suit (R.O.B.s?) as a mini boss to find Samus' Power Suit.
    • Playable Characters- Zero Suit Samus, Pikachu
    • Bosses- Samus like copies
    • Stage Clear Rewards- Zero Suit Samus and Pikachu join team
  • The Lake Shore- Kirby spots something in the distance and runs off, leaving the princess he rescued open to an attack from Bowser. He turns her into a trophy, then Shadow Bugs transform into her. Depending on which princess it is, either Mario and Pit or Link and Yoshi will attack her when she tries to turn the other team into trophies. Once defeated, the other team mistakes the shadowy princess as the real one and attack the other team (Mario and Yoshi oddly don't seem to recognize each other). Once they're defeated, King Dedede shows up and tries to take their trophies, but Kirby stops him. King Dedede tries to get away, but either Pit or Link damages the Cargo with his arrow, and the five heroes chase him all the way to his castle.

    • Bosses- Zelda/Peach (Shadow Bugs), Mario and Pit/Link and Yoshi
    • Stage Clear Rewards- None
  • The Path to the Ruins- As the Pokémon Trainer and Lucas go after the Trainer's Charizard that flew into a nearby ruins, Wario suddenly attacks them. Remembering what he did to Ness, Lucas (and the Pokémon Trainer) fight back and defeat Wario. Lucas gets worried when he doesn't see Ness with Wario, but Pokémon Trainer reassures him, before they enter the ruins in search of Charizard.
    • Playable Characters- Lucas, Pokémon Trainer (Squirtle)
    • Bosses- Wario
    • Stage Clear Rewards- None
  • The Cave- Before the five heroes enter the castle, King Dedede gives special badges to each of the trophies he's collected, one for Luigi, Ness, and the princess (the last one he gave his own badge to). Suddenly, Bowser attacks and takes the princess trophy with him. After running off with her, the heroes catch up with him, but Bowser gets away in his Koopa Clown Car. As he flees, the badge the princess had falls off, and Kirby looks at it...
    • Playable Characters- Mario, Pit, Kirby, Link, Yoshi
    • Bosses- None
    • Stage Clear Rewards- None
  • The Ruins- Inside the ruins, the Pokémon Trainer finds his lost Ivysaur and Charizard. He and Lucas then enter a mysterious ruined hall... Also, after the final boss is defeated, an area becomes available where once can challenge Wolf.
    • Playable Characters- Lucas, Pokémon Trainer (first Squirtle, then eventually Ivysaur)
    • Bosses- Charizard
    • Stage Clear Rewards- Pokémon Trainer can now use Ivysaur and Charizard; Wolf O'Donnell becomes playable
  • The Wilds- A strange tank zooms off through the desert, and Ike, Meta Knight, and Marth chase after it. When the catch up to it, the tank changes into a monster and attacks. Although they defeat it, it manages to escape into a nearby ruins...
    • Playable Characters- Ike, Meta Knight, Marth
    • Bosses- Armank (miniboss), Galleom
    • Stage Clear Rewards- None
  • The Ruined Hall- Within the ruined hall, the monster from before crashes down, and attacks Lucas and the Pokémon Trainer. Once defeated, it grabs Lucas and the Pokémon Trainer and sets off a Subspace Bomb on it's head and begins flying toward the sky. Lucas manages to set them free by using PK Thunder, and Meta Knight catches them as they fall. They manage to escape just before the bomb goes off, taking the Ruins and Wario with it.
    • Playable Characters- Lucas, Pokémon Trainer (Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard)
    • Bosses- Galleom
    • Stage Clear Rewards- None
  • The Halberd- After the subspace bomb in the Arena activates, Kirby and either Princess Peach or Zelda will fly off on a warpstar towards the Halberd, landing on its deck. Soon, Fox's Arwing is seen dodging the Halberd's fire, but was eventually hit, knocking Kirby and the princess off in the process.
    • Boss Battle- Duon

Story[]

The story will, according to the director, revolve around character development. In the Subspace Emissary, all of the Nintendo protagonists will unite to take down an evil force unlike any before - the Subspace Army, which is headed by the Ancient Minister. This army plans to tear the world apart and feed subspace the land mass, and its the Nintendo casts' duty to stop them.

The story begins with Mario and Kirby having a friendly fight. Mario ultimately wins, and Kirby turns into a trophy. Mario revives him and the two shake hands (note: this all takes place in the arena). Eventually, a large cloud appears over the stadium followed by the Battleship Halberd. After this, an army of Primid drop onto the stage as well as a bomb and a R.O.B. Squad, who were constructed to operate the bomb. The two R.O.B.s set the bomb's timer. Mario quickly runs in to deactivate the bomb, though gets blasted miles away by a cannon. By now Princess Peach and Zelda, who were merely observing the battle that took place before, attempted to fight the enemies, when suddenly Petey Piranha came in and trapped the two in cages.

Kirby fights Petey Piranha by attacking the cages that the princesses are in. After Petey Piranha is defeated and Peach is saved, Wario crashes into the stadium with some sort of Dark Cannon and blasts Zelda that didn't get saved by, turning her into a trophy. Wario picks up a trophied Zelda and jumps out of the stadium. As in a hurry, Kirby and Peach quickly escape the stadium via a Warp Star, and the entire stadium gets engulfed by the Subspace.

When Pit discovers the subspace engulfing the entire stadium, he greets with Palutena to let her receive him his bow and heads off on his adventure to save the world from Subspace. As Pit is on a mission, he sees a Halberd releasing the Shadow Bugs, turning into the Primids. He uses his blades from his bow to attack them. Pit then finds Mario, who is turned into a trophy and revives him. Mario wakes up and remembers he got shot out the stadium by Petey Piranha. Then he teams up with Pit to save the world together. As they reach the end, they miss the Halberd and the Arwing flies in to battle.

While on the Warp Star, the two get shot down by the Halberd, and then crash onto the large ship. Fox McCloud tries to come to the rescue by trying to shoot down the Halberd, only to be shot down himself. Fox's Arwing crashes into the land and almost hits Peach and Kirby, which causes them to trip and fall off of it.

Below in the jungle, the Koopa Troop steal the bananas, which Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong goes to chase after them. Then after they get the bananas back, Bowser stomps in and turns Donkey Kong into a trophy with a Dark Cannon, after punching Diddy Kong in the air. Mario and Pit tries to stop the Ancient Minister, but it gets away from them. Diddy Kong swings into The Lake to see an Arwing, who had been taken down by the Halberd. Then suddenly, a legendary Pokémon, Rayquaza emerges from the lake and attacks the downed Arwing. Then it grabs Diddy Kong and ready to attack him. Then Fox pops out of the Arwing and saves Diddy Kong, and he uses his reflector to down Rayquaza back into the lake. Then after they defeat Rayquaza, Diddy Kong appeals to Fox that he's gotta help him look for Donkey Kong, but Fox refuses and Diddy Kong drags him with. When after defeating the False Bowser, Diddy realizes the trophied false character is made from Shadow Bugs. Then Bowser tries to turn Fox and Diddy Kong into trophies, but they escape.

Meanwhile in The Ruined Zoo, Lucas is all alone, feeling lonely. Then he sees the Shadow Bugs landing and turning into Primids, which is scaring Lucas. Then suddenly, a Porky Statue jumps in and starts chasing Lucas. While Lucas is chased by a Porky Statue, he trips over an overgrown root, which his foot got caught in. Then Ness uses his PK Thunder to stop a Porky Statue and save Lucas, and uses his PK Flash to destroy it, causing to transform into Porky. After Ness and Lucas defeat Porky, Wario suddenly enters with his Dark Cannon and tries to turn Ness into a trophy, but Ness dodges the pointing arrows multiple times. Annoyed, Wario tries turning Lucas into a trophy, but Ness pushes him out of the way to save him, only to get turned into a trophy. Then Wario interrogates the trophied Ness, as Lucas runs away from him in fear and it starts raining with lightning flashing and thunder crashing. Lucas teams up with a Pokémon Trainer named Red and his Squirtle to fight the Primids. After fighting the Primids, Lucas remembers Ness is turned into a trophy and joins Red on adventure.

Somewhere in the battlefield, the two R.O.B.s set the bomb timer near and the bomb engulfs the battlefield. Nearby from the castle, Marth discovers it with his own eyes and sees Primids and the Ancient Minister and draws his sword to shine it. As he is near the engulfed battlefield, Meta Knight flies in and duels with Marth, but they team up to fight the Primids. Then when they chase after the Ancient Minister to destroy him, Marth uses his Dolphin Slash, but misses and Meta Knight had his wing shot by a laser. Then Ike enters and uses his Aether to destroy the Subspace Bomb, letting the Ancient Minister fly out of control like a balloon. Then they see the Ancient Minister getting away.

In the green fields, the Waddle Dee goes on walking. Luigi jumps in, but is very cowardly with the Waddle Dees and scared of them. Then suddenly from behind, King Dedede knocks Luigi into the sky with his Jet Hammer, turning him into a trophy. Then afterwards, Wario enters in the trophy car with trophied Zelda and Ness carried in it and spots a trophied Luigi. As Wario carries a trophied Luigi to his trophy car, a swarming Waddle Dees attack him and throws a trophied Luigi in the cargo, upside down. Then King Dedede gets on the trophy car and drives away. Then after a swarming Waddle Dees run away, Wario calls out with his yelling "Hey!", thinking King Dedede stole his cargo.

Later in the forest, Link with his fairy finds his Master Sword and pulls it from the stone. When Link and his fairy continue his adventure in the forest, he passes by Yoshi, who is taking a nap on the stump. Then Link suddenly hears the Halberd flying by from the sky and the Shadow Bugs released and turned into Primids, and Yoshi wakes up to team up with Link to defeat them. As they reach the cliff, they miss the Halberd and takes the other way. Inside the Halberd, Solid Snake is hiding in the box.

Inside the research facility, Samus Aran in her Zero Suit breaks the vent door open from the ceiling and gets down from the vents. When Samus reaches the generator room, she finds that the generator is running. Inside, Pikachu is screaming and crying for help, while being generated with electric, so Samus breaks the generator glass with his Plasma Whip to save Pikachu and it causes the alarm to blare and the R.O.B.s enter to see intruders. When Samus and Pikachu enter the control room, they discover Samus' power suit from one of the cameras on screen.

Meanwhile in the pass of The Lake Shore, Kirby spots King Dedede driving the trophy car and chases after it, leaving Peach behind to get turned into a trophy by Bowser and cloned by Shadow Bugs. As Mario and Pit are running by, False Peach uses a Dark Cannon to turn them into a trophy, but Link destroys it with his Master Sword and Yoshi enters to fight with Link's help. After Link and Yoshi defeats False Peach, Mario realizes that a trophied Peach is cloned by Shadow Bugs and misunderstands with it. Then Mario and Pit make their first encounter fight with Link and Yoshi. After Mario and Pit are defeated and turned into trophies, King Dedede snatches them onto a trophy car. But Kirby jumps on and cuts the grabber with his Final Cutter, revives Mario and Pit afterwards. Then Pit shoots his arrow to stop the engine of the trophy car. Mario, Pit, Kirby, Link and Yoshi all team up and chases after the trophy car. They discover the shortcut through the tunnel. After getting through the tunnel, they find King Dedede's castle, where he is hiding.

In the control room outside of the research facility, Ganondorf demands Bowser to find King Dedede's castle and steal trophied Zelda from him. From the views of the path to The Ruins, Charizard flies by and Red shows Lucas photos of him and Ivysaur and ready to find two of his Pokémon. When they reach the entrance to The Ruins, Wario suddenly jumps in and Lucas and Red fights him. After Wario is defeated and turned into a trophy, Lucas realizes his flashback about Ness. Then Red comforts him to be brave, so they can enter. Inside the castle, King Dedede pins his brooches on trophied Luigi, Ness and Zelda. Then he feels a heavy rumble which the brick ceiling went falling apart, and one hits King Dedede in the head, knocking him out. Then Bowser and his Koopa Troop jumps in and finds trophied Zelda.

Mario, Link, Pit, Kirby and Yoshi enter the castle, and finds a secret exit in the cave. When they reach the exit of the cave, Mario lunges at Bowser, but he shields himself with a trophied Zelda. Then Pit shoots an arrow at Bowser, but misses and causes a brooch to fall off Zelda. Bowser falls off the cliff, but lands in his Koopa Clown Car and cackles, while flying away to the Halberd, taking trophied Zelda with him. Then Kirby discovers a brooch is on a ground. The Ancient Minister arrives to engulf the castle with the Subspace Bombs with help from two R.O.B.s. Ganondorf meets Master Hand in the control room.

Inside the Ruins, Red and Lucas finds Ivysaur and fights off Charizard to catch them. Then they find the ruined hall. Outside of the Ruins, Marth, Ike and Meta Knight chases after a tank, which it transforms into Galleom. When they defeat him, Galleom jumps and crashes into the ruined hall to face Red and Lucas. When Galleom is defeated, he snatches Red and Lucas, and activates a bomb timer from his head and blasts off from the ruined hall. Lucas uses his PK Thunder to free himself and Red before the bomb engulfs the ruins. Meta Knight saves Red and Lucas, as a trophied Wario is sucked into the Subspace. Then he and Lucas shake hands, as they see the Subspace engulfed the ruins.

From the wilds, the Ancient Minister watches the ruins engulfed by Subspace Bomb and remembers his flashback with R.O.B.s. Then an arrow shot flies, but the Ancient Minister misses, which Mario, Link, Kirby, Pit and Yoshi goes chasing after it. While chasing the Ancient Minister, it went shooting lasers at Mario and Link, but they dodge it multiple and their way gets blocked by R.O.B.s. Then the Ancient Minister drops the Subspace Bomb in the wilds and two R.O.B.s activate the bomb timer. Mario and Pit tries to stop them, but other two R.O.B.s drag them away. One R.O.B. waves goodbye at the Ancient Minister, as the Subspace Bomb engulfs the wilds, but they quickly get away from there.

Meanwhile in the swamp, Fox and Diddy Kong are enjoying the walk, when Bowser suddenly enters and turns Diddy Kong into a trophy. Then Bowser tries to turn Fox into a trophy, but he dodges the arrow. Then Bowser orders the Shadow Bugs to clone the trophied Diddy Kong, which it leads to Fox's horror. When Bowser is about to turn Fox into a trophy, Falco Lombardi flies in from his Arwing and destroys his Dark Cannon. It upsets Bowser that he flees himself into a Koopa Clown Car. Then the Shadow Bugs goes out of control on False Diddy Kong, causing it to grow giant. Fox revives Diddy Kong, lead to his shriek in horror at the giant false chimp. After defeating the giant False Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong appeals at Falco to help find Donkey Kong, but the same way with Fox, he drags Falco with him after he refuses. They find a trophied Donkey Kong on board with chains, being carried to the research facility, and Falco calls the Great Fox for a backup plan.

Back in the research facility, Samus and Pikachu finds her Power Suit. But they face against the two False Samuses. After defeating them, Samus changes into her power suit and continues with Pikachu to defeat the R.O.B.s. As they reach the hall of the research facility, Ridley snatches Samus and scrapes her, but Pikachu uses Thunder to save Samus. Then he and Samus face Ridley and defeats him. After defeating Ridley, Samus and Pikachu exits to the outside, and finds the Subspace Bomb factory.

Outside of the Ancient Ruins, a giant R.O.B. is being flapped up by a bunch of Pikmins, which it wakes up and shakes them all off. Captain Olimar is frightened over the giant R.O.B., but is comforted by a red Pikmin and points out to the Blue Falcon, which Captain Falcon jumps out and Falcon Punches a giant R.O.B. and sweeps all of the Pikmins away. When Olimar and Captain Falcon reach the waterfall, Diddy Kong jumps off Falco's Arwing and shoots his Peanut Guns at the Primids, while he and Olimar jump off on board. Diddy Kong revives Donkey Kong, leads to freeing himself from being chained on board. Then they team up with Olimar and Captain Falcon to fight the Primids. Afterwards, Falco gives thumbs up on his Arwing and Diddy Kong waves goodbye at him, while they approach the Subspace Bomb Factory.

Above the top glacier mountain, the Halberd is battling with the Great Fox, when Meta Knight spot it. He flies to go climb the top of the mountain, while teaming up with Popo and Nana, the Ice Climbers. As Meta Knight and the Ice Climbers are on top, he makes his fight with Lucario, the Aura Pokémon. After he defeated Lucario, he revives him from his trophy form and they both team up, when the Halberd crashes the Great Fox on the glacier top, only for Meta Knight and Lucario to board the Halberd, while the Ice Climbers fall back down. After the Ice Climbers lands back on the ground, they all fight the Primids, only for Mario, Link, Yoshi, Kirby and Pit to save them.

Inside the Battleship Halberd, Snake comes out from hiding in the box and is ready for action. As he is in the halls of the Halberd, he hides himself in the box as Meta Knight and Lucario discovers him. Then Lucario picks up the box to reveal Snake, who spots him and Meta Knight and team up with them. As they reach the cage room, they see two hanging cages with trophied Peach and Zelda locked up in there and the Shadow Bugs cloned them into the false princesses, in which Snake, Lucario and Meta Knight defeats them. After they are revived and freed, Zelda changes into Sheik and takes Peach with her to find the exterior bridge.

While they're on the bridge, Fox is fighting the Halberd with his Arwing and prepares to fight back. But Sheik jumps onto the Arwing and breaks the glass open to get Fox out. As Sheik and Fox are brawling, Peach interrupts them with their tea time. Inside the Halberd's cockpit, Snake, Lucario and Meta Knight find five clones of Mr. Game & Watch and Snake punches them out of the window, which they make a bad landing and transform into Duon. Snake and Lucario jumps onto a bridge and Falco jumps off his Arwing on board to face Duon. After Duon is defeated, Mr. Game & Watch is trophied and Fox prepares to shoot with his blaster. But Peach revives Mr. Game & Watch and lets him carry her umbrella. Back inside the cockpit, Meta Knight drives the Halberd out of the red clouds into the clear blue sky.

Inside the Subspace Bomb Factory, Samus and Pikachu crashes in to find the Ancient Minister. They prepare to attack, but the Ancient Minister realizes he can't be part of evil anymore. Then Donkey Kong breaks the wall open for him, Olimar, Diddy Kong and Captain Falcon to enter and team up with Samus and Pikachu. Then a red tranquilizer Ganondorf appears to take command of the R.O.B.s, but the Ancient Minister tries to stop them. Frustrated, Ganondorf burns down the Ancient Minister to let them get all of the Subspace Bombs, and lets out his cackle. Samus, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Captain Falcon and Diddy Kong tries to stop the R.O.B.s from Ganondorf's force orders. but the burning Ancient Minister fires the laser from eyes at the arrow birds and burns down into a main R.O.B. As Donkey Kong is trying to stop the enemy R.O.B., the other R.O.B.s makes a blue friendly contact with him. Then R.O.B. closes his eyes and faints. Captain Falcon sets his timer and leads Donkey Kong, Samus, Pikachu, Diddy Kong and Olimar the way out, while Donkey Kong is carrying R.O.B. They jump off to get on the Falcon Flyer, only to be chased by Meta-Ridley.

As they made it out of the Subspace Bomb Factory, it is engulfed by the Subspace Bomb. Then they land down to pick up the other fighters to go face the true enemy. From inside the Subspace, the Subspace Gunship emerges out and fires it somewhere in the ocean. The camera zooms to see Ganondorf and Bowser taking control of it, when he spots the Halberd approaching. The gunship starts firing at the Halberd, but destroys it succeededly. Then the small flying transports escapes and dodges the firing gunship. But Kirby enters with his Dragoon and destroys the gunship to save them. Frustrated, Ganondorf goes back into the Subspace with Bowser following him, and they finally enter the Subspace.

After they all got inside the Subspace, Ganondorf betrays Bowser by turning him into a trophy with his Dark Cannon and pushes it out of the way. As Ganondorf greets with Master Hand, something has been chained onto him from the back. Ganondorf look upon who's controlling Master Hand, which turns out to be Tabuu, the Subspace God. He jumps up to attack Tabuu, but it knocks him out and turns him into a trophy, leading to the chains to break free and causing Master Hand a lot of bleeding. Weakened, Master Hand attempts to attack Tabuu, but it got downed and defeated. Afterwards, Tabuu turns everyone back into trophies with his Off-Waves and builds The Great Maze to hide himself.

Meanwhile in the castle, Luigi and Ness are revived from the trophy form by King Dedede's brooches. Then Ness revives King Dedede, who was turned into a trophy after brick ceiling of the castle fell on his head, and he hugs them and leads them to revive everyone from trophy poses. As they find a defeated Master Hand and the stairs to The Great Maze, he finds a trophied Bowser and revives him, which they start fighting afterwards. After Bowser is defeated and turned back into a trophy, King Dedede revives him again and slaps him in the face to look at the stairs. Bowser groans in defeat and joins the team.

On the other hand, Kirby gets revived from the trophy pose and spits out a brooch he had in his mouth early. Then he journeys out alone to revive the rest from the trophy form. As Kirby finds a trophied Ganondorf, Bowser beats him up and leaves him behind. King Dedede reunites with Kirby and drags him to The Great Maze. After Link and Zelda are revived from trophy pose by Ness, Luigi, King Dedede and Kirby, they revive Ganondorf and points him to the Great Maze, and they go up there to defeat Tabuu and save the world. As King Dedede watches them go into the Great Maze, Wario, who is revived from the trophy form by Kirby, messes with him and laughs. His jaw drops, as Luigi, Ness and King Dedede points to where Tabuu is hiding and they all go in and defeat Tabuu. As they all reach the end of The Great Maze, Tabuu prepares to use Off-Waves, but Sonic the Hedgehog enters and destroy Tabuu's wings and they all defeat. After Tabuu is intensely killed by all the characters, the Subspace begins to disintegrate and the world is finally returning to peace.

Hidden Characters[]

Three hidden characters can be unlocked through Subspace Emissary. However, they themselves never actually appear in the main story. You will have to complete the Subspace Emissary and return to 3 levels (revealed on the characters wiki pages) to find a door that wasn't there beforehand and defeat them and they'll join you. This is REQUIRED for the 100% completion of the Subspace Emissary.
