2022 is the current year, and the year after 2021. Early 2022 also marks the 5 year anniversary of the Nintendo Switch. Currently, the biggest games in 2022 are Kirby and the Forgotten Land (March) released in celebration of Kirby's 30th anniversary, Splatoon 3 and two games in the Pokémon franchise: Pokémon Legends: Arceus (January 28) and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (November 18).

General Information
Not much is currently known about Nintendo's planned release schedule for 2022. Currently, the biggest games in 2022 are Kirby and the Forgotten Land (March) released in celebration of Kirby's 30th anniversary, Splatoon 3 and two games in the Pokémon franchise: Pokémon Legends: Arceus (January 28) and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet (November 18). Pokémon also released a web series based on the former, Pokémon: Hisuian Snow. On Feburary 24, 2022, Nintendo acquired SRD. On June 9, 2022, Billy Kametz, the voice actor for Ferdinand von Aegir in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, died at the age of 35. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes was released on June 24, 15 days after his death. Three Hopes marks one of Kametz's last voice acting roles.
