1001 Spikes (formerly known as Aban Hawkins & the 1,001 Spikes) is a 2D platformer game developed and published by Nicalis and launched on the eShop service for the Wii U and 3DS consoles. The main premise of the game is that the player has to traverse a series of levels with 1001 spikes (and other traps) with only 1001 lives. The game also supports up to 4 players local co-op on the Wii U version as well as a few modes.

The games image/icon is a recreation of the film poster for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Indiana Jones holding a machete).

3DS eShop Description[]

Jim Hawkins, the world-renowned archaeologist, has gone missing while exploring the frozen reaches of Antarctica.

Before his disappearance, he entrusted his daughter Tina with a map to the long forgotten ruins of Ukampa Temple in South America, along with a letter warning that death waits behind its every corner.

In that letter, he posed a challenge to his estranged son, Aban Hawkins: to venture forth into the deadly ruins in search of a legendary treasure rumored to lie behind the Golden Door of Poko-Mum.

Can Aban survive the endless traps of Ukampa and surpass his famous father once and for all?
